Lucas the Penguin is now waddling with more confidence.
The San Diego Zoo resident had been dealing with an infection called bumblefoot, which causes swelling and lesions.
As a result, no other penguins wanted to socialize with Lucas.
A company called Thera-Paw made a mold of Lucas' foot to create an orthopedic boot that made walking easier.
Zookeepers report that the four-year-old penguin is now socializing and has a girlfriend.
