Cleveland drops the first game of their series against the Mariners after a 3-1 defeat. Tristin McKenzie got the loss after allowing all three runs in the first inning. He recovered and shut down the Mariners for the next five innings, but the team was unable to generate any offense. Jose Ramirez drove in the only run for the Guardians after grounding into a fielder's choice. The team will try and bounce back tonight as the series continues in Seattle.
