(Akron) - A missing teenager has been found, thanks to joint work by the U.S. Marshals Service, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Police, Ohio BCI, and the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Makenzie Carson, 15, was found Tuesday morning in Akron , along with her boyfriend, a 16-year-old described as a runaway from Portage County. She was last seen at Mosquito Lake State Park in Trumbull County at 1 a.m. on July 7.
U.S.. Marshal Pete Elliott says "Runaway teens, much like fugitives, often cross jurisdictional boundaries and even go to great lengths to avoid being found."
Carson has been returned to her family. The boy is in the Portage County Juvenile Center.
