Fairview Park Man Michael Freshwater Charged With Ethnic Intimidation

FAIRVIEW PARK, OH - Felony charges for vandalism and ethic intimidation were filed against Michael Freshwater, 30, of Fairview Park on Monday in Rocky River Municipal Court. Freshwater is accused of spray painting a racist message on a vacant business in the Fairview Centre shopping plaza on June 12th. He's also accused of spray painting a racist message on the 2022 Colors+ Youth Center, an advocacy center for LGBTQ+ youth and allies located on Lorain Road on July 1st. A brick had also been thrown through a window.

Freshwater was arrested at his home early Friday evening and was taken into custody without incident. He has an extensive criminal history with Fairview Park Police Department including previous charges for vandalism, obstructing official business, theft, disorderly conduct, felonious assault, endangering children and domestic violence.

He's being held for bond at North Olmsted Police Department’s city jail.
