Cleveland Guardians managed just one run in a 3-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Triston McKenzie gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pick up the loss. Shane Bieber lasted just four-and-two-thirds innings, but he only gave up one run in his first start of the season. Jose Ramirez drove in Cleveland's only run with a double in the fourth. The Guardians are off today, and they send Zach Plesac to the mound when they return to Kauffman tomorrow.
