José Ramírez Reportedly Signs a Five-Year Contract Extension Worth $124M

CLEVELAND - Guardians All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez has reached an agreement with the team on a five-year contract extension worth $124-million according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. The 29-year-old Ramirez has two years left on his current deal worth $25-million. The extension will give him guaranteed money totally around $150-million.

Last season, Ramirez earned his fourth top-six finish in the A.L. Most Valuable Player voting since 2017, tied for the most in MLB with Mike Trout over the five-year span. He ended the season as one of two players to have 35-or-more home runs, 100-or-more RBI, 100-or-more runs and 25-or-more steals (36HR, 103 RBI, 111 runs, 27 SB), joining A.L. MVP Shohei Ohtani.
