Team LeBron defeated Team Durant, 163-160, in the NBA All-Star Game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Sunday.
Stephen Curry led all scorers with 50 points on 16 three-pointers and received the Kobe Bryant MVP Award in the win. The pro-Team LeBron crowd greeted Curry with boos as a long-time Finals rival, but cheered with every made three en route to an NBA record for most threes in an All Star Game. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30, and LeBron James added 24, including the game-winning shot to help his team reach the target 163 points under the game’s Elam ending.
For Team Durant, Joel Embiid recorded a double-double with 36 points and 10 rebounds, and Devin Booker scored 20 points. Trae Young had Team Durant’s other double-double with 13 points and 10 assists.
It was also a special night because the NBA honored the 75th Anniversary Team at halftime - 25 years after commemorating the 50th Anniversary Team in the same building - then known as Gund Arena.
Team LeBron is 5-0 since the league switched to an All-Star draft starting with the 2018 game. Next season’s All Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, February 19th in Salt Lake City, Utah, home of the Utah Jazz.
