Transgendered Penn Swimmer Smashes Competition; Records

Major backlash is swirling after a transgendered swimmer at the Univeristy of Pennsylvania shattered national, program and meet records during a competition over the weekend at the University of Akron.

22-Year old Lia Thomas, who competed as a man her first two seasons at Penn before her transition, won the 1650 yard freestyle, finishing 38 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Thomas also blew away the record in the 200 yard freestyle, wining that event by seven seconds, posting the fastest time in the country.
