Victims Identified In Geauga County Crash

(Newbury Township) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed the names of all those killed in Monday's crash beetween a van and a tractor trailer on State Route 44.

The driver of the van was Darryl Barnes, 62, of Garfield Heights,. The passengers who died were Kipp Ginn, 47, Vonda Harris, 57, and Ke'mel Jenkins, 28, all of Cleveland. Also dead was Rhonda Hutchinson, 44, of University Heights. Two other passengers in the van were taken to the hospital, and were reported in stable condition.

The passenger van that Barnes was driving crossed head-on into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Brett Morgan, 31, of Geneva. He had non-life-threatening injuries.

The van was owned by the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and leased out to SAW, a private organization that works with the developmentally disabled.. In a statement, Judy Carey, CEO of SAW, said, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of those involved in today’s tragic motor vehicle accident. SAW, Inc. has offered their complete cooperation to local authorities as they investigate the circumstances of today’s accident. We will keep all involved parties informed of any developments, and will act as a resource for those that require assistance during this difficult time.”

The crash is still under investigation.
