Missing Children Found Safe In California

(Wayne County OH) - Three children missing from the Wayne County village of Shreve have been found safe and sound in California., The three children from the Cruz family , Isabel, Remington, and Cruz, ages 11, 7, and 5, were reported missing last week. Monday night, California State Highway Patrol troopers found the children along with their mother, and the mother's boyfriend. They were found about 55 miles from Sacramento.

The Shreve Police Department confirmed the discovery of the children on the village's Facebook page. In a written statement , Shreve Police say they received a tip the car they were looking for was in California. The California Highway Patrol stopped the dark blue Dodge Caravan near Gold Run, California. In the car were the three children, their mother, Justina Cruz, and Bryan Godfrey, who was the man suspected of driving the car. The children are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Shreve Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
