(Columbus) - A bill named after A Shaker Heights teacher, murdered by her ex-husband, is making its way to becoming law.
Aisha's Law was named for Aisha Fraser. It passed the Ohio House Wednesday on a vote of 91-2, and was sent to the Senate. When it becomes law, the bill would toughen the penalties imposed when someone murders someone in a domestic violence situation.
Fraser was stabbed to death by her ex-husband, former Judge Lance Mason, right in front of their daughters. Mason is serving life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 35 years.
