CLEVELAND, OH -- After clinching the American League Central Division in game one of the double header, the Chicago White Sox found themselves in a back-and-forth battle. Jose Ramirez scored on a wild pitch in the 4th inning for the game's first run. Chicago answered back in the top half of the sixth when rookie Andrew Vaughn poked a 2-run RBI single to left field. In the home half of the 7th, Oscar Mercado launched a 2-run walk off slam to finish off the White Sox by the final score of 5-3.
Zach Plesac set the tone for the tribe in game two, looking brilliant throughout his start. The Cleveland right hander finished the game with a final line of 2 earned runs through 5.1 innings, striking out 4 while walking one.
The Indians will host the Chicago White Sox for a Friday night game at Progressive Field, with the first pitch set for 7:10 pm ET.
