FBI Charges NE Ohio Man With Explosives Possession

(Cleveland) - One man recently learned that you should not drink and drive, especially when your car is loaded with explosives.

The FBI in Cleveland says that on July 22, Orange Village Police pulled over a car for an alcohol-related driving offense. The car was impounded. During a search, Orange Police found a large stash of things that can be used to make explosives, including 10 pounds of potassium percholorate, potassium nitrate, powdered sugar, batteries, Vaseline, and a black tactical bag with the word "POLICE" on it. The bag contained ear protection and safety glasses.

Dodson's excuse? He told FBI agents from the Beachwood City Jail that he had made smoke bombs for the 4th of July, and hadn't taken those materials out of his car.

The FBI did some more digging, and found out that Dodson's social media posts had a lot of references to the Unabomber, and Dodson even has a tattoo of the now-convicted domestic terrorist. The social media also had referecnes to explosives, remote detonators, photos of a remote detonator, 12 radio antenna devices, and imrpvised claymore mines containing 1.000 BBs in each device. The BBs can be used as shrapnel. The FBI also found photos of flame throwers, soft armor, firearms, and improvised grenades.

Dodson is now facing federal charges from the FBI, including charges related to possession of and construction of destructive devices, for which he had no permits.
