City has $5 Million To Study Haslam's Lakefront Plan

(Cleveland) - The City of Cleveland now has the money for a $5 million study of the feasibility of a major redevelopment of the downtown lakefront.

The city put up $2.5 million of its own for the study, and it was announced on Wednesday that another $2.5 million would be coming from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Haslam Sports Group, which owns the Cleveland Browns, has proposed a plan that includes extension of Malls A, B, and C across the Shoreway, and adjacent railroad tracks, in the form of a land bridge. Then, major new envelopment is proposed for around FirstEnergy Stadium, and North Coast Harbor. The $5 million study will look at feasibility of the project.
