(Elyria) - Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti says his office is about to resume community service programs that were cut back or postponed due to the pandemic. The first to be resumed is the Lorain County Sheriff's office Child Fingerprinting program.
Any group, organization, or other entity that wants to schedule this program can call 440-329-3844 to schedule a time and location.
Also, the Lorain County Sheriff's Office School Supply Store for local teachers will be making announcements this summer for the startup of school this fall.
Some services that were put on hold by the pandemic may not be coming back. The Chronicle-Telegram reports that the Oberlin Senior Center, closed since the start of the pandemic, will stay closed permanently. That's due to the senior center losing almost $50,000 per year. They've decided to cut their losses.
