U.S. Marshals Arrest Two Different Homicide Suspects Within Hours

U.S. Marshals of Northern Ohio

Cleveland, OH - Earlier today, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 24-year-old David Moore, wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police and 31-year-old Carlton Dotson, wanted by the Warrensville Heights Police Department, both for murder.

Moore was the last of three suspects wanted for a homicide that occurred on March 29, 2021. Cleveland Police Officers responded to a call of a male who had been shot on Hosmer Ave. in Cleveland’s Slavic Village. The victim, 20-year-old Tyronte Peterson, had been shot in the neck. He was transported to the hospital where he later died. Last month, the NOVFTF arrested Terry Lee Trussell Jr. and Terry Lee Trussell III, who are brothers, on East 95th St. for their connection to the homicide. Early this morning investigators were able to locate the last suspect, David Moore, who is also a brother of Trussell Jr. and Trussell III. Moore was arrested without incident on East 37th St.

Later this morning, Carlton Dotson was arrested by the NOVFTF. Dotson was wanted in connection to a September 23, 2020 murder that left a 36-year-old man dead outside a Warrensville Heights apartment complex. In October 2020, the NOVFTF arrested Carlton’s brother Carlos Dotson while he was trying to board a plane in Knoxville, Tennessee. Carlos Dotson was also wanted in connection to this homicide. After being featured as the Fugitive of the Week in November 2020 and conducting numerous interviews with the community, the NOVFTF was able to locate Carlton Dotson at a home on Benham Ave in Cleveland, where he was arrested without incident.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The NOVFTF has closed the fugitive investigations into two ongoing cases with multiple suspects. Our teams will not rest until anyone connected to violence like this found and brought to justice, no matter how far they run or how long they hide.”
