(Sandusky) - Cedar Point is doing something they couldn't do last year, thanks to the pandemic. They're opening on time!
Cedar Point will be open on Friday, and will have regular operating hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during May, along with being open on Memorial Day.
Park General Manager Carrie Boldman says everything's ready. She's ready as well, having been promoted to the general manager's position just a few weeks go. She's a native of the area, and besides working for Cedar Point, she also has experience working for Disney.
Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark says things they had planned for the park's 150th anniversary will be happening this year. They included the Snake River Expedition, a family-friendly boat ride, and the Celebrate 150 Spectacular Parade, which will feature two-story floats that will go through the park.
The park's first few weeks will feature the Frontier Festival in the park's Frontier Town, including activities for children and families, and a chance to try all kinds of food made especially for the Frontier Festival.
Reservations are still necessary this year, by going to Cedar Point's web site, but one change from last year is that Cedar Point will not require face masks in outdoor areas, including on rides. They'll still be required indoors, except when you're eating or drinking.
