Wizards Stay Hot, Roll Past Cavaliers 122-93

CLEVELAND, OH -- Despite being close in standings, the Cavaliers and Wizards are trending in opposite directions. The Wizards came into town and took control over the Cavs, extending their halftime lead of 6 to double digits quickly into the second half. Russel Westbrook earned his 31st triple double of the season, leading the Wizards past the Cavaliers by the final score of 122-93.

The Cavaliers top paid player Kevin Love was nearly non existent on Friday night for Cleveland. In 22 minutes of play, Kevin Love did not attempt a single shot or free throw, while grabbing 10 defensive rebounds. Cleveland guard Darius Garland was pulled from the game with an apparent ankle injury. Collin Sexton led all Cavaliers in scoring with 22 points in his return to the hardwood after suffering a concussion.

Former league MVP Russell Westbrook had an efficient game for the visiting Washington Wizards, scoring 15 points, grabbing 12 boards, and dropping 11 assists. Washington winger Bradley Beal dropped 19 points, leading the Wiz in scoring.

Cleveland will look to bounce back against the Miami Heat on Saturday evening. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm ET at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
