(Columbus) - A top state lawmaker says the odds are in your favor to have legal sports betting in Ohio later this year. Senator Kirk Schuring (R-Canton) is in charge of a committee that is dealing with the issue of legal sports betting. He told cleveland.com he plans to introduce a bill this month. Senate President Matt Huffman has said he'd like to have the bill rolled into the state budget bill.
Yet to be determined os where you'd go to to put down money on your favorite teams. Look for Ohio's casinos and racinos to push to be where you would place a bet.
Nearly every state surrounding Ohio has some form of legalized sports betting, which was legalized after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states could legalize and regulate such gambling.
