Westin Hotel Downtown Will Not Close

(Cleveland) - A downtown Cleveland hotel that was in danger of closing, will stay open. A court-appointed receiver will be in charge of the Westin Cleveland Downtown Hotel on Saint Clair Avenue.

The hotel was close to going into foreclosure, but now the hotel will stay open. The hotel is owned by a company linked to Ukrainians accused of using the company for money laundering. The hotel's owner is behind on mortgage payments.

A Cleveland lawyer will look into the hotel company's finances, and there's a chance some assets, even including this hotel, will be sold off.
