(Brownhelm Township) - A Vermilion man died late Sunday morning when his pickup truck went through a guardrail and over a cliff.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers were called out about 11 a.m. Sunday to near the intersection of North Ridge and Vermilion Roads. Troopers found a badly damaged Ford F-150 on the bank of the Vermilion River. The driver, Alec A. Koutsopoulos, 23, of Vermilion, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Patrol says they got reports that the pickup was westbound on North Ridge Road, when it went through the intersection with Vermilion Road, hit a guardrail, went over it, and down the steep cliff.
It hasn't yet been determined what caused the fatal crash.
