Cleveland Woman Arrested After High-Speed Chase & Multiple Crashes

(Port Clinton) - A Cleveland woman was arrested over the weekend after she led Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputies on a high-speed chase.

Deputies say they saw an SUV on State Route 2 with an obstructed license plate and tried to stop it. The SUV took off at speeds of up to 104 MPH, and got off an exit at about 94 MPH. The SUV then ran a stop sign, pitched up onto two wheels, came back down, and then traveled across both lanes of traffic before it was in the path of the deputy's cruiser. The cruiser hit the SUV, causing it to hit a guardrail. The SUV took off again, toward Port Clinton, at speeds over 80 MPH, eventually colliding into another vehicle. Both vehicles were disabled.

The deputy then took the driver into custody at gunpoint. She is Jade L. Petitto, 26, of Cleveland. She did not have a valid drivers license, and there was an outstanding warrant for her from Cuyahoga County. Deputies found in the SUV drugs, and credit cards belonging to other people. Petitto, who is now in the Ottawa County jail, could face numerous charges.
