(Sandusky) - When you go to Cedar Point this summer, it may seem a little less international than usual. The park plans to hire as many as 6,500 workers this summer. In past years, 20-25% of those workers came from other countries.
Those people were recruited if they could get a J-1 visa, which allowed them to legally work in the United States. However, cleveland.com reports the Trump administration cut off issuance of J-1 visas last year, to make sure Americans got jobs during the pandemic. There's no word from the Biden administration as to whether that policy will continue this year.
If you're looking for a job this summer, Cedar Point will do open interviews Saturday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park's recruiting center, 2220 First Street in Sandusky. They are also doing virtual hiring that day.
