Cleveland, OH - Tiger woods was involved in a serious single vehicle roll-over accident on February 23, 2021 around 7:12 a.m. WST. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of the accident.
The crash happened on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Ranchos Palos Verdes. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Blvd. at Blackhorse Rd., when it crashed.
The vehicle sustained major damage.
Tiger Woods was the only person in the car. He was extricated from the wreck with the "jaws of life" by L.A. County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital.
In a statement from Tiger Wood's agent Mark Steinberg:
"Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."
It is unclear what caused the accident. The incident is under investigation.
Just this week, Woods took photos with David Spade and Dwayne Wade. He also announced recent back surgery could keep him out of the upcoming Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
This isn't the first vehicle accident for Tiger Woods. He crashed his SUV in 2009 near his home in Florida.
In 2017, Woods was arrested after the police found him passed out behind the wheel of his car. Tiger said he had been taking prescription medication and didn't realize the effect they would have on him.
