WESTLAKE, OH - Police are looking to identify these 2 women who were involved in the theft of over $500 worth of merchandise from Michaels on 1-28-21.The women left without paying for the items which are described as Swarovski Crystals (used for nail art).The first suspect is described as a heavy set older black female wearing black stretch pants, a knit cap and a blue light weight jacket. The second suspect also appears to be a heavy set older black female who was wearing a nylon cap, bright multi-colored jacket and mask. They appear to enter a white 4 door sedan with a blue or back stripe down the side. They were possibly associated with a white male and female who entered a silver Chevy HHR and left the area with the white vehicle. On 1/31/21 at about 11:30AM an officer observed that trucks parked at a business on Sharon Dr appeared to have been tampered with. Upon closer inspection, he saw that the catalytic converters had been cut off of the 3 work trucks. Investigators are collecting nearby surveillance footage to try to develop suspects.
On 2/3/21 at approx. 7:30PM officers were called to Crocker at Detroit for a crash involving 3 vehicles. The driver of the vehicle that started the chain reaction rear end collision appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The 29yo female Lakewood resident was field tested and arrested for OVI. Luckily only minor injuries were reported due to the collision. All 3 vehicles had to be towed from the scene. At the Westlake Jail, the arrested driver tested over 2 and ½ times the legal limit. She was cited with having a prohibited breath alcohol content, OVI, failure to maintain assured clear distance and possession of marijuana after a suspected marijuana cigarette was located in her vehicle. She was later released to a sober friend.
On 2/4/21 at about 8:15AM, an officer on patrol learned that a person staying at the Super 8 on Sperry had an entered felony warrant out of Austin, Texas for a parole violation after a larceny charge. The male was found in a room and was arrested. The 31yo male who listed Arlington, TX as his hometown, was transported to the Cuyahoga County Jail to await transport back to Texas.
On 2/4/21 at approx. 1:30PM while patrolling the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn on Clemens, officers discovered that a vehicle in the lot belonged to a person with a felony warrant out of Portage County for burglary. Officers located the 21yo from Streetsboro in one of the hotel rooms. He was arrested and transferred to a Portage County Deputy.
