Geiger's To Close Downtown Store

(Cleveland) - Geiger's, the clothing and sporting goods retailer, says it will not reopen its downtown Cleveland store on Euclid Avenue near East 9th Street. That store was broken into by downtown looters last spring.

Chas Geiger said in a news release that the pandemic has caused problems for brick-and-mortar retailers that rely on foot traffic, and that it also caused problems in obtaining supplies.

The store, which opened in 2015, closed at the start of the pandemic, reopened in May, but closed again, after it was looted by rioters in downtown Cleveland on May 30, 2020.

Geiger's Lakewood and Chagrin Falls stores will remain open.
