(Cleveland) - Former Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway is accused of engaging in alleged inappropriate acts toward women in sports media, this while Callaway was working for three teams, including the Indians.
The allegations were reported by The Athletic. The report said he sent three women inappropriate photos, and asked one for nude photos in return. He told one of the women that if she got drunk with him, he'd share information about the Mets, when he was manager.
The Indians released the following statement: "We were made aware for the first time tonight of the allegations in The Athletic regarding Mickey Callaway’s behavior towards women. We are currently reviewing the matter internally and in consultation with Major League Baseball to determine appropriate next steps. Our organization unequivocally does not condone this type of behavior. We seek to create an inclusive work environment where everyone, regardless of gender, can feel safe and comfortable to do their jobs."
Callaway is currently pitching coach for the Los Angeles Angels, and was also manager of the New York Mets.
