Fans Can't Attend Spring Training Workouts

(Cleveland) - If your plans were to head to Indians Spring Training in Goodyear, Arizona to see the team practice and warm up, forget about it.

On Monday, the Indians sent an email to fans saying that per Major League Baseball guidelines, the player development complex in Goodyear won't be open to fans for Spring Training. As for the Spring Training games, it still hasn't been decided if those will be open to fans or not. The City of Goodyear, which operates the ballpark for both the Indians and the Cincinnati Reds, is working with health and safety officials and MLB.

Even the start of Spring Training is still up in the air. It's scheduled to start February 27, but the Cactus League, and political leaders in the Phoenix area have asked MLB to delay the start of spring training because of rising numbers of coronavirus in Arizona.
