(Cleveland) - Cleveland businessman Bernie Moreno may be considering a run for the U.S. Senate Seat being vacated after next year by Rob Portman.
The Wall Street Journal reports Moreno has been reaching out to political strategists and pollsters about a likely campaign, and has been a big donor in recent years to Republican campaigns. He has never run for political office.
Moreno owns a number of car dealerships, but in recent years, has invested in technology, including companies that are into blockchain technology.
Portman announced on January 25 that he would not run for a third term, citing issues with the political divisiveness in Washington.
