Developer Charged With Embezzlement

(Cleveland) - Federal prosecutors say a property developer's gambling debt has in in trouble. The U.S. Attorney's office in Cleveland says Arthur Fayne stole over $885,000 that was intended to go to contractors involved in the construction of Eastside Market, a grocery store project in the Glenville neighborhood, and used it to cover his gambling debts.

Fayne is facing nine charges in federal court. His lawyer told cleveland.com that the feds simply don't understand the situation, and said all of the contractors on the project were paid.
