Saturation Patrols On Thanksgiving Eve

(Medina) - The night before Thanksgiving is considered one of the biggest nights to go out for a drink or two. That's why you'll see more police than usual on the roads Wednesday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Medina calls it a Saturation Patrol. They say the purpose is to take impaired drivers off the road, and to enforce violations that could cause crashes. They'll be out in force on I-71, US-42, and State Route 303.

Other police agencies in Northeast Ohio will also be out in force. It's all because the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration says Thanksgiving Eve is one of the top five drinking holidays.
