Cuyahoga County Forgives Euclid Loan

(Cleveland) - The City of Euclid will be able to keep some money in its bank account, as Cuyahoga County Council voted on Tuesday to forgive $480,000 in interest on a $4 million loan made to the city.

Euclid had borrowed the $4 million from Cuyahoga County to go toward the cost of a lakefront trail and park project. The city, so far, has spent $7 million on the project.

Euclid Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail told County Council that the city is short on money to complete the project, but they will complete a beach for paddlecraft, and an adjoining park.
