(Columbus) - Early voting numbers are up sharply in Ohio, according to Secretary of State Frank LaRose.
After one week of early voting, triple the number of Ohioans have voted at voting centers across the state compared with the same time four years ago. 193,021 Ohioans voted early in the past week, compared with 64,312 at the same time in 2016.
The Secretary of State also says that absentee ballot requests are up. 2,470,268 have been received by Ohio's 88 county Boards of Election, compared with 1,245,670 at this time four years ago.
LaRose says Ohio has 216 hours of early voting, ahead of 43 other states. Ohio is one of only 20 states that has early voting on Saturday, and one of only five with early voting on Sunday.
The voting schedule is the same in all 88 counties.
