Browns 2-1 for the First Time Since 2011

The Browns defeated the Washington Football Team 34-20 to improve to 2-1 for the first time since 2011, and for only the third time since the team returned in 1999, the other being 2002.

Leading the way offensively was Baker Mayfield who had his best game of the season finishing 16/23 for 156 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. The offensive line continues to improve as they allowed only two sacks and opened lanes for both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Chubb finished with 108 yards on 19 carries for two touchdowns while Hunt finished with 46 yards on 18 carries. Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry were tied for the most catches with four. Beckham catch four of his six targets for 59 yards while Landry catch four of four for 36 yards. Hunt had two catches one for a touchdown. Rookie Harrison Bryant had one catch but made it count as it was for a touchdown, the first of his career.

Defensively the Browns had one of their best games in quite a while. The Browns defense forced five turnovers and gave up only five yards pre play. Of the five turnovers three were interceptions. The interceptions were made by Karl Joseph who returned his for 49 yards, Malcolm Smith and BJ Goodson. Myles Garrett had two of the Browns three sacks today. One sack resulted in Garrett forcing a fumble that he recovered. Lead to a Browns touchdown.
