Operation Moving Target Rounds Up 27 Suspects

(Cleveland) - An undercover operation to find people engaging in sexual activity with children has wrapped up.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley says "Operation Moving Target," over four days, ended with the arrest of 27 men, all of whom were allegedly interested in having sexual activity with people they believed to be children, but really were police.

This undercover operation by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force lured in men who got engaged in conversations with officers that pretended to be children. All of the men were lured to a vacant house in Cleveland, and that's where they were arrested.

Charges include Attempted Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, Importuning, and Possessing Criminal Tools. Each case will be presented to a Cuyahoga County grand jury.

Operation Moving Target was coordinated by the Ohio ICAC Task Force with the assistance of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S Secret Service, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Newburgh Heights Police Department, Solon Police Department, Kent Police Department, Streetsboro Police Department, Cortland Police Department and Cleveland Division of Police.
