Parma Home Heavily Damaged By Fire

(Parma) - A Parma family's house was heavily damaged by a fire early Wednesday morning.

Parma Fire public information officer T.J. Martin says that at about 2:10 a.m., they were called out to a house fire in the 7500 block of Hoertz Road, south of Pleasant Valley Road. The first engine company to respond saw heavy fire, which had spread to the second floor, and the roof.

Four people were inside, and all four were rescued. One person was taken to the burn unit of MetroHealth Medical Center, while the others were treated by EMS from Parma and Seven Hills. The family dog died in the fire.
