(Cleveland) - Even when school lessons are being done remotely, children still need school supplies. The Salvation Army has teamed with Walmart to provide new school supplies to hundreds of local children in need during the "Stuff the Bus" campaign.
40 Walmart locations will be set up to receive donations of school supplies on August 7, 8 and 9, 2020. There will be collection bins in the front of each of the Walmart stores.
“There are hundreds of children in our local communities whose parents will have to make the tough choice between school supplies, groceries, the electric bill or insurance,” said Major Cindy-Lou Drummond, Divisional Commander from The Salvation Army of Northeast Ohio Division. “We anticipate this number will increase significantly this year due to the novel coronavirus,” continued Drummond.
The "Stuff the Bus" campaign is one of 4,500 similar ones taking part at Walmart stores across the country.
