Cleveland Now Set to Host First 2020 Presidential Debate

Cleveland - Clevelanders may want to mark their calendars.

The original host site of the first 2020 Presidential Debate between President Donald Trump and Presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden, Notre Dame, has backed out from the event. So, who will take it's place? Cleveland.

The Commission on Presidential Debates made the announcement Monday afternoon, as Cleveland Clinic's Health Education Campus will host the first of what will be three debates between the nominees.

Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University will co-host the spectacle, which has drawn some question marks during the current global pandemic.

As it stands now, both President Trump and Biden are expected to be in person for the event, though a crowd may not be allowed inside.

The debate is currently set for September 29th.

The two other debates will be held October 15th in Miami, Florida and October 22nd in Nashville, Tennessee.
