COVID-19 Testing Now Available For Anyone In Ohio

(Columbus) - For the first time since the pandemic began, anyone in Ohio can be tested for COVID-19.

Governor Mike DeWine announced the change Thursday. Until now, you had to meet criteria before being tested, such as being high risk, or showing symptoms.

There will be pop-up testing locations starting Friday in Columbus, and they will open soon in Cleveland, Akron, and elsewhere in Ohio. Testing locations around the state are on a state-provided map.

The governor says he's encouraging anyone who wants a COVID-19 test to talk to their primary health care provider or contact a testing location to arrange a test. He says, by understanding who is sick, whether they show symptoms or not, it's possible to better prevent the spread of the virus.
