Columbus - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed a felony drug charge against a Michigan woman after a traffic stop in Summit County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 2 pounds of methamphetamine and 2 ounces of crack cocaine worth approximately $105,000.
On June 4th, at 3:26 p.m., troopers stopped a 2019 Nissan Altima with Ohio registration for following too close and no headlights violations on the Ohio Turnpike. While interacting with the driver, troopers detected the odor of burnt marijuana and observed marijuana residue in plain view. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.
The driver, 23-year-old Erika K. Jones, of Roseville, Michigan, was incarcerated in the Summit County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in methamphetamine and crack cocaine, all first-degree felonies.
If convicted, she could face up to 44 years in prison and up to an $80,000 fine.
