Several Amazon Employees Rewarded With Full Time Jobs

North Randall, OHIO - Some people who worked for Amazon throughout the COVID-19 pandemic are being rewarded. Amazon filled an estimated 175,000 full and part-time positions across North America in response to the surge in demand from the pandemic. The company was criticized at times for alleged dangerous working conditions related to COVID-19. Those positions included more than 6,500 new employees hired in Ohio. On Thursday, Amazon announced that 125,000 of those who came on seasonally have the opportunity to transition to full-time roles. That includes more than 6,000 permanent jobs being offered in the Buckeye State.

Those roles will earn workers a minimum wage of $15 and hour and access to some training programs designed to help them work their way up at the company. The full-time jobs will kick in next month, the same time Amazon winds down its $2 an hour hazard pay for workers.
