Three Additional RTA Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

Cleveland - Some tough news for those who frequent Cleveland's RTA services.

On Saturday, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority was notified that three additional employees tested positive for COVID-19.

All three of the new COVID cases are operators, two assigned to the Hayden District and the third to Paratransit. The Paratransit Operator last worked on Friday, May 1st, while one of the Hayden operators last worked on Saturday, May 2nd, and the other on Tuesday, May 5th.

Following RTA protocol, the vehicles assigned to these employees were cleaned and disinfected prior to returning to service. Additionally, other staff members who may have been in contact with these employees were notified.

Eleven RTA staff members have now tested positive for the Coronavirus. However, of the previous eight, five employees have fully recovered and have returned to RTA to assume their normal work duties.
