Rocky River -
On Tuesday April 14th, 2020 at approximately 12:25 pm a River Oaks Dr. resident reported that his neighbor’s cat jumped on the hood of his car scratching it. Investigation showed that this is an ongoing problem with the neighbor, Eva Hutter, a 55-years-old from Rocky River. Hutter was advised again about having an animal at large and cited for Animal Not Under Control through the Rocky River Municipal Court.
On Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 at about 12:20 PM an Elmwood Rd. resident reported that a family appeared to be living in a tent in Elmwood Park. Police responded and found two young adults, a 19-year-old Rocky River woman and 19-year-old Westlake man, had put the tent up to watch a movie. They were advised to find an alternate place to watch a movie.
On Thursday, April 16th, 2020 at 12:05 PM Rocky River Police received a call about a possible assault at the Giant Eagle on Center Ridge Rd. A 37-year-old North Ridgeville woman reported being pushed by a 42-year-old Fairview Park man when both were reaching for the same product. Officers determined that while there was some “aggressive shopping”, no assault had occurred.
On Thursday, April 16th, 2020 at approximately 3:30 PM a 69-year-old Allen Court Resident reported being defrauded by a man she met on Facebook who told her he was injured in the Army and needed money. The man, who remains unidentified, convinced the victim to send over $8,000.00 before realizing she was the victim of a fraud. The investigation is ongoing.
On Friday, April 17th, 2020 at 4:00pm Rocky River Police received a call about a theft that had occurred at the Giant Eagle on Center Ridge Rd. When police arrived they made contact with Laquita Mack, 32-years-old from Cleveland, and found that she was in possession of stolen food items that totaled $29.50. Mack was charged with theft and criminal tools and released on scene.
