Greater Cleveland Food Bank needs your help

As COVID-19 continues to impact our area, supplies are becoming very limited at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and help is needed.

GCFB continues to look at alternative distribution methods to ensure they get the food out to those most in need two exampled include:

  • The Food Bank is turning their monthly produce distribution into a drive through pantry, where volunteers can simply put food into client’s trunks and limit contact with people.
  • GCFB is packing emergency boxes with a seven day supply of nonperishable food for households in need, particularly seniors.

If anyone is in need of food assistance, please call our Help Center at 216-738-2067 to find the nearest location to get food or additional assistance. The Help Center will have the most-up-to-date information regarding openings and available hours.

  • GCFB will continue to put out the call for healthy volunteers to help pack senior boxes and bagged cold meals. Interested people can click HERE. At the same time, they are reminding volunteers of wellness procedures including required hand washing. Currently, volunteers are off limits in our production kitchen, as they are operating with an abundance of caution when it comes to hot and prepared meals in light of the clients who receive them. GCFB is also planning on providing frozen and/or shelf stable meals for multiple days should senior congregate meal sites need to close.
  • Raising money to help us do all of the above and continue to ensure that we help people in our communities with the nutritious food they need … and more as our plans continue to develop.
