(Columbia Station) - A historic building on Route 82 was heavily damaged in fire Saturday afternoon. Numerous fire departments were called out to the historic Columbia Ballroom.
As seen in photos posted on social media, there was thick black smoke coming from the building.
Columbia Ballroom's web site says the building is over 80 years old, having hosted dances during the Big Band era, and in recent years, was a reception hall for events such as weddings.
