Cuyahoga County Public Library to Hold Annual Food4Fines Food Drive

Parma - In conjunction with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Harvest for Hunger campaign, the Cuyahoga County Public Library will sponsor a Food4Fines food drive March 1st through March 31st.

During the Food4Fines food drive, CCPL customers may reduce their library fines up to $4.00 per visit ($1.00 per food item) when they donate food items from the Cleveland Foodbank’s Super Six or make cash donations to the Harvest for Hunger campaign at their local CCPL branch.

CCPL can only accept donations of these Super Six items:

• Peanut butter

• Cereal

• Canned soup

• Canned vegetables

• Beef stew

• Tuna fish

CCPL customers may receive $1.00 off any fines on their account for each food item they donate at their local CCPL branch, up to $4.00 (or four food items) per day, per account.

Customers may also choose to make a cash donation to Harvest for Hunger. For every $1.00 a customer donates, CCPL will waive $1.00 in fines from their library account, up to $4.00 (or four food items) per day, per account.

Damaged and/or expired food items will not be accepted. Food items stored in glass containers will not be accepted.

Donations will be collected at the check-out desks in all CCPL branches during regular operating hours. All donations collected in CCPL branches will be delivered to the Cleveland Foodbank for distribution to food pantries, hot meal programs and shelters throughout the region. In 2019, the CCPL Food4Fines food drive raised more than 19,000 pounds of food donations for Harvest for Hunger.
