Rocky River Police Blotter: Pranks Galore

Rocky River -

  • On 09/24/2019 at about 5:50 PM police responded to Purnell Ave. to investigate a vandalism complaint. The resident reported eggs were smashed on the front door, sidewalk, and driveway and silly string was sprayed on landscaping. The complainant has no idea who may be responsible for the damage. 

  • On 09/27/2019 at about 3:50 AM patrol officers came upon a car stopped in the travel lanes on Detroit Rd. at Southbend and discovered the driver was asleep and saw vomit on the inside of the car and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. The driver, 26-years-old from Cleveland, was arrested for drunk driving after a series of field sobriety tests.

  • On 09/27/2019 at about 11:30 PM police responded to a Goldengate Ave. home after the resident reported a large landscape rock was stolen from the front yard sometime after 09/13/2019. 

  • On 09/27/2019 at about 6:55 PM police went to Planet Fitness 19332 Detroit Rd. after an employee reported a suspicious person in the gym that suspected to be involved in thefts from lockers in Rocky River and Cleveland. The clerk reported seeing the man leave the store and crouching between cars in the parking lot. When spotted, the suspect through the keys, later determined to belong to a gym member, and ran. A suspect has been identified but charges have not been filed pending further investigation.
