OBJ's Big Night Leads Browns To First Victory

East Rutherford, NJ -- Odell Beckham Jr returns to his former home of Metlife Stadium, where he once played as a member of the Giants, and catches six passed for 161 yards and one touchdown as the Browns earn their first win of the season and their first win on Monday Night Football since 2008, by beating the Jets 23-3.

The Browns started their scoring when Austin Seibert hit his first career field goal from 23 yards, which was aided by a spectacular one handed 33 yard catch by Beckham on the sideline earlier in the drive, to take an early lead in the first quarter. Later on in the first Seibert hit a 48 yard field goal to put the Browns up 6-0 in the first.

Nick Chubb capped of a 5 play, 53 yard drive with 19 yard TD run in the 2nd quarter to put the Browns up 13-0 early on. Chubb finished the night with 18 carries and 62 yards, and he also added 4 catches for 36 yards.

The play of the game came in the 3rd quarter when after the Browns stopped the Jets on 4th down, the very next play Mayfield threw a quick pass to Beckham and he had the space to run as it turned into a 89 yard touchdown pass, which was the nail in the coffin for the Jets in the game, as the Browns went up 23-3.

Other notable stats for the Browns tonight, Baker Mayfield had an up and down game as he 19 for 35 for 325 yards with one touchdown and one interception. On the defensive side of the ball, Joe Schobert lead the team in the tackles with 13, Myles Garrett led the team with three sacks on the night to push his season total to five, and Denzel Ward added 7 tackles from the defensive backfield.

Next up for the Browns is a Sunday night matchup against the defending NFC Champions, Los Angeles Rams, who are 2-0 to start the year. Kickoff is at 8:20pm.
