On August 31, 2019 officers were dispatched to the police department lobby to meet with a victim of domestic violence. Investigation by the officers discovered that between 11:00 PM on August 16, 2019 and 2:00 AM on August 17, 2019 the victims live in boyfriend had assaulted her. The victim stated that her boyfriend became angry while they were discussing personal matter and he slapped her in the face, punched her and then threw her on the bed. After throwing her on the bed he began to choke her. It was reported that this type of aggression continued for approximately 50 minutes. The victim did have bruising on her arms, legs and chest. The victim also complained of bruising on her buttocks and having a lump there that was not there prior. The victim did not wish to sign a warrant for the arrest of the suspect. It was explained that the report would be sent to the court for a ruling on probable cause and if probable cause was found then a warrant would be prepared. Probable cause was determined and a warrant was prepared. Attempts to serve the warrant on the 31st were unsuccessful. The male was arrested on September 1, 2019 at 10:30 AM.
