Cleveland - One man is dead, while a pregnant woman and infant hurt after a crash on Interstate 77 Wednesday morning.
Cleveland Police say at approximately 6:00am a 32-year-old male was traveling northbound on I-77 in his green 4 door Saturn Relay minivan at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, drove into the shoulder and collided with a guardrail. The vehicle then rear ended a disabled 2008 Mack truck equipped with a dumpster.
The Saturn minivan was also occupied by a 31-year-old pregnant female and a one-year-old infant. The driver was conveyed to Metro where he died. The female passenger and infant were also conveyed to Metro where they remain for unspecific injuries. The driver of the dump truck checked ok medically on scene.
Traffic was backed up along I-77 for hours while crews worked to clean up the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
